Hi, my name is Andy Targoff.
Here is some information about me, so you can get to know my background.

I’ve been playing guitar and singing for the past 46 years. Since then, I have also learned to play many other instruments, and I have developed an improvisational style on keyboards. I began as a folk singer, but have since gained experience in many genres.

I graduated Berklee College of Music, in Boston, with highest honors in 1988. I studied guitar there with the late William Leavitt, who wrote the widely renowned series of books called, “A Modern Method for Guitar.” I play lead guitar on this recording. I also achieved my teaching certification for public school at that time, and I am currently a full-time public school music teacher. I received my Masters of Music at UMASS Amherst, in 1994, with a major in music composition. I have had several songs published.

On my original recordings, you will notice some background vocals. I use overdubbing to sing all the parts myself.

"Sing Me a Song" was inspired by a dream I had, encouraging me to pursue my passion as a singer-songwriter.

Thanks for Listening, Andy Targoff

Lyrics Sing Me a Song Copyright 1989, revised 2015, by Andy Targoff Dreamin’… Sing me… Dreamin’… Sing me

Days will slip away, so sing me a song, No more time to waste, sing me a song Another break of day, sing me a song,
A passion to embrace, A voice expressed to me…

Though you may go to chase the wild flowers, the city’s towers, American dream I know you gotta work, work, work to get the time to play, but We’ve got today

Days will slip away, so sing me a song, No more time to waste, sing me a song Another break of day, sing me a song,
A passion to embrace, The dream appeared to me…

Up on the hill I saw the people dancing, singing, laughing, clapping their hands Some were arm in arm, with children skipping along, Some had formed a circle singing songs

Two folks stretched their arms out to their full span, And the others jumped under like the limbo dance Musicians jamming, I could see them swaying I heard the music playing, I remember the music playing And this is what I heard them saying,

Days will slip away, so sing me a song, No more time to waste, sing me a song Another break of day, sing me a song,
A passion to embrace, A voice bellowed to me

Though you may have to take the Monday train, rolling through the rain, To make your pay and be free Gotta break out your guitar and play, You’ve got so much to say, and We’ve got today

Days will slip away, so sing me a song, No more time to waste, sing me a song Another break of day, sing me a song,
A passion to embrace, The chorus sang to me

Days will slip away, so sing me a song, No more time to waste, sing me a song Another break of day, sing me a song,
A passion to embrace, Woke up remembering Woke up remembering, Woke up remembering…

Dreamin’… Sing me… Dreamin’… Sing me… Dreaming
